Writing

Recent years, most scholars says that present students do not do well on writing. Although this issue lasts many years, the government does not have action. Today I had a test of reading. One of the articles talked the same topic, but it happened in America. I am surprised about it because most people in Taiwan all admire style of education. However, they still have the same problem. In America, the business companies mention that they hope the teachers do teach their students how to write and speak well.

I find this problem is more and more serious. In the schools, we do not have much time to write, and my sister also does not, even less than us. They read, speak and listen, but it is hard to them to write words. They usually write words, and they do not know they are wrong. It is very serious. But nowadays we do not have any methods to change the situation. Perhaps it is a common problem in every country in my view.

Fortune Telling

Today I listened to Martina's speech. In fact, I believe in fortune telling a little bit. I think Martina is right. I don't have confidence in myself sometimes. However, my best friend is interested in this especially the time when she was sick. During the time, she found the special method of fortune telling. It is color. She told me the color could cure your mind and also express what your statement. Actually, I do not believe in it at all. It is very unblieveable. The kind of fortune teller can tell your what your statement is through the colors you choose. Just through some colors, it can know your mind. She told me it came from England, and it is a new fortune telling there.

The following is the website of fortune telling

The Nanny Diaries

Yesterday we went to library to see the movie – The Nanny Diaries. I like it very much. The protagonist called Annie is a fresh man in job market. She has a high diploma, but she chooses to work as a nanny. I am impressed by its ending part.
She finds the her boss Mrs. X sets the surveillance camera, and she talks to it. In my opinion, her saying is thoughtful. She indicates the common phenomenon. The parents are too busy to take care of their children, so they always choose to employ a nanny instead of this duty. In my view, it is not good choice.

Take my uncle as an example. My uncle worked for car industry, and he was very busy because his company works 24 hours. He had four days off in a month, and he always came off work at 12 p.m. The purpose he worked this job is in order to earn much money and his interest. However, when his child grew up, he found he has no talking-point with his son, and his son dosen't want to talk to him. He wants to change the situation, but it is a little too late. It is a problem the present parents confronts.

China phenomena

Today Martina told me that her penpal comes form China. He told more about the phenomena in there, and he does admire our democratic rights. In Taiwan, we can say anything we want to say, but in China, it is impossible. Originally, I think China makes progress; however, it does not. He said our media report many articles which are good for China recently. In fact, their police will kill and hit people arbitrarily. They have no courage to resist the police. They also can not judge their government because they do not want to put into jail. He said the citizens in China all had the same opinion. When I heard the saying, we think deeply we are luck. In China, there are still more dark side than we think. It is too terrible. To me, it is hard to imagine we live in this style of life. It is nightmare.

The website he offers has many pictures which happen recently

Fear of toxic gas poisonings haunts Taliao schools

http://www.taiwannews.com.tw/etn/news_content.php?id=830270&lang=eng_news&cate_img=49.jpg&cate_rss=news_Society_TAIWAN

This is a big news, and it lasts for many days. I think the government is not active to deal with this situation. I know it is probably hard to find the culprit, but I hope the government should think more about the teachers and pupils. I remember last week, I watched TV news which talked about this issue. The teacher is pregnant, but her baby risks because of toxic gas. The teacher should stay at home; however, she said that she should be responsible for her duty, and no one could replace her position. In addition, today I heard that a man died of too much worry. That's, the couple have a child in their old age. It is uneasy, and they have an only child. Owing to toxic gas, their child is sent to the hospital three times from now on. The father of this child was too worried about their child, so that he could not bear this pressure. It is a tragedy. I do hope that kind of situation will not appear again, and the government should consider more for citizens first.

Poem

Robert Frost – The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

After I read this poem, I think it is life. In our lives, we meet so many choices in different parts, and we have to choose one. It is hard to choose because maybe we want all, and we do not want to choose one. When I was the third year of senior high, I was demanded to choose one department which I liked most. Actually, I did not know what was my favorite. Every department semed to be wonderful, and I did not obviously like any subjects most. During that time, I shirked, and even I hated that kind of myself. It was hard time to me. I hoped the universities in Taiwan would be reformed because I like that kind of universities in America. We had a year to understand every subject of university was. In Taiwan, we would be told through seniors, teachers or some information on Internet. It is awful. Most people regret the department they chose. It wastes much time.

Gay Rights

Question 1

In the American film and television always show Chinese Gong Fu, bueauty and political affairs. In many movies, you can see the beauty with phoenix eyes, slender figure and great Gong Fu, such as "Charlie's Angels", "Shanghai Knights" and so on. It shows Chinese people's brave, power and wise. Because we have not only beautiful appearances but also powerful strength.

In negative stereotypes, I remember a movie effected me most is "The Cat" in the Hat. When the babysitter sat down, opened the TV and watched the parliament were fighting, she said "Oh! Taiwan". It's kind of awkward to me.

Question 3

One of my friend, Martina has a lot of friends are gays and lesbians, so I ask her for some help because I don't have those friends around me. To me, of course, I can't agree it expecially "men", but it was until later I met one of Martina's friend who is gay, I change my mind. Do you know why most of people agree lesbians but gays? I think that is our traditional thought. In our impression, man should be strong, tough and bread-and-butter, but those "men" seem not. In Taiwan, gay and lesbians don't have more rights than in USA. Some of Asia people can't agree with them.

This is a 21 century, I think we should set them free. I know it's hard to do, but can you imagine gay have to be get married with a woman or a lesbian have to get married with a man? Who wants to love? Everybody wants it! So we can't decide other's choices.
